Property Description

Lost Prairie Timber Ranch is on the state border between Oregon and Washington. The property is located 1± mile from WA State Route 129/OR State Route 3.  Enterprise, Oregon, and Asotin, Washington are approximately 1± hour drive from the ranch. Lewiston, Idaho, one of the area’s major commercial hubs, is 60± miles northeast. Wallowa County, whose largest city is Enterprise, is considered the home to Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, Wallowa Lake, and the Eagle Cap Wilderness Area. Hells Canyon is one of “Oregon’s 7 Wonders” and offers excellent opportunities for hiking, camping, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and more. The principal industries in the area are agriculture, ranching, lumber, and tourism.

Acreage:

This large tract of timber/grazing land consists of acreage in two states. The 1,650.72± acres are comprised of 5 tax parcels:

Two parcels (1,039.52± acres) are located in Wallowa County on the Oregon side of the state line. The Oregon parcels are bordered by private lands on 3 sides and fenced on the south and west. Approximately 1,000± acres of the property on the Oregon side are subject to a grazing lease that expires on 12/31/25. This portion of the property contains 999.52± acres zoned Effective Farm Use and 40± acres zoned Timber/Commercial by Wallowa County.

Three parcels (611.20± acres) are in Asotin County on the Washington side of the state line and zoned Open Space Land by Asotin County. The north and west sides of these parcels are bordered by public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The west side of the property is fenced. While the Oregon and Washington portions could be split, an access easement of record would have to be placed across the Oregon portion.

Water:

Bear Creek runs through the eastern side of the property year-round. The creek feeds into the Grande Ronde River about a mile north of the property line. In addition, seven ponds or troughs provide livestock water on the property.

Access:

One legal access route, via an easement, originates near the northern end of North Lost Prairie Road. This allows full access to the west boundary of the property. A second potential access route could provide access at the southern boundary of the property, but is at present incomplete.

Recreation:

This property offers good deer, elk, and bear hunting.

Lost Prairie Timber Ranch is an excellent opportunity to own timbered ranch land with great recreation and big game hunting. Bear Creek attracts and helps support wildlife. Don’t miss this opportunity to invest in timberland in a very pretty area near the borders of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
