Joseph Plains Ranch White Bird Idaho

Located up on the Joseph Plains in Idaho County northwest of White Bird, Idaho, and south of Cottonwood, Idaho.  The property is accessible from the north or the south. The area is rich in mining and ranching history. It is bordered on the northeast side by the Bureau of Land Management lands. And is also nestled between the Salmon and the Snake Rivers and close to the Nez Perce National Forest.

The 920± acres consist of meadow plateaus, viewpoints, and timbered draws.  The acreage is full of wildlife, attracting elk, deer, bear, and other big game. Benefitting both wildlife life and cattle grazing there are several stock ponds. The dry cabin does have an old water well (both conditions unknown) and some fencing can be found as well.  Recreational opportunities available on and off the property include hiking, horseback riding, hunting, ATVing and snowmobiling, and snowshoeing in the winter.

The views from the property are a vast landscape of meadowlands at the top with timbered draws reaching down to the powerful Salmon River that winds its way through the landscape.   A short drive on the banks of Salmon River is the Pine Bar Recreation site. Used by rafters to put in, it also features several large beaches providing good swimming and fishing spots and overnight camping.

With all that the Joseph Plains Ranch White Bird Idaho has to offer, the year-round recreation, the unparalleled views, and the privacy, it’s no wonder recreationists are drawn here.
